Kangra Fort

One of the closest historical places to visit near Dharamsala, Kangra Fort is a remnant of the valley’s history. The fort is spread across 4 km and its structure has temples, mosques, palaces and royal gateways. It dates back to a few years before 470 AD, which is the year when it was first invaded by the King of Kashmir.

St. John in the Wilderness Church

St. John in the Wilderness, built in 1852, is one of the most important churches in Himachal Pradesh. Located near Dharamshala and on the way to Mcleodganj, this neo-gothic church was built in dedication to John the Baptist. Set amidst lush deodar forests, this peaceful edifice is known for its Belgian stained-glass windows.

Dal Lake

Dal Lake is a pond located on the Macleodganj Naddi Road at 1775 metres above sea level. The lake is surrounded by a pine forest with a scenic view of the hills. Masroor Rock Cut Temple

Situated 32 km from Kangra in Dharmashala on the Nagrota-surian link road, Masroor Rock Cut Temple is an archaeological site. The complex is a combination of 15 rock-cut temples designed in the Indo- Aryan style of architecture, believed to have been built in 8th century.
