This little village lies in close proximity to New Delhi,
Agra, Garhmukteshwar, Ramnagar, Kashipur, and Haridwar.
Garhmukteshwar, around 40 km from the Fort
Unchagaon, is associated with the Puranas and the Mahabharata.
This city is believed to be a part of the ancient city of
Hastinapur (the capital of Kauravas). Garhmukteshwar is also
famous for its bathing fair that takes place on the full moon
Day in the month of Kartik. Devotees, numbering around 6 lacs,
come to have a dip in the holy river of the Ganges. Another
fair, held on the occasion of Dussehra, attracts around 50,000
devotees.
Kashipur and Haridwar are one of the chief
religious centers of India. The Chaiti Mela of Kashipur and
the Maha Kumbh Mela of Haridwar draw huge crowds from India
and abroad.
Ramnagar, located in the foothills of the
Himalayas, can best be described as the ideal gateway to the
Jim Corbett National Park. This place attracts a large number
of tourists on account of its geographical location and close
proximity to the famous hill station of India, Nainital.
Agra needs no introduction. Thanks to the
enigmatic monument, the Taj Mahal! This amazing spectacle now
ranks top amongst the wonders of the world.
New Delhi, the capital city of India,
offers a unique mixture of traditional culture and modernity.
The Akshardham Temple is a must watch, not to forget the
sprawling shopping malls and other wonders of urban
civilization! |
