Discover Destination
A small hill station sitting prettily in the Himalayan lap,
Ramgarh is a wonderful retreat for those who want to escape to
the unfathomable beauties of nature and savor its impeccable
taste. Acres of forest, view of the snow-capped Himalayas
, great walking trails, and fruit orchards- this amazing
Uttarakhand hill station welcomes you to discover its ethereal
beauty!
Being a serene place, Ramgarh promises to be one of the
choicest destinations to spend a quiet Himalayan vacation .
The place has lots to offer for nature lovers, who can
actually admire the white Himalayan peaks from a close
distance and get a taste of the Himalayan fruits. Rightly
hailed as the fruit basket of the Kumaon region, Ramgarh
houses countless numbers of fruit orchards, which grow a
variety of Himalayan fruits like apples, plums, apricots, and
peaches. Besides, the jungles of Ramgarh are the proud
possessors of some of the most beautiful birds in Uttarakhand
. In summer, the cry of the Kafal Pakko bird in particular,
resounds through the entire dense valleys.
The historical association of this placid Uttarakhand hill
station is no less significant. Ramgarh was once the
cantonment of the English army. Noble Laureate, Rabindra
Nath Tagore, and the eminent Gyanpeeth Award winner, Mahadevi
Verma, spent a long time in this beautiful Indian hill station
. In fact, Tagore's masterpieces, the Gitanjali and the
Sandhyasangeet, were all composed here. The ashrams of
Rabindra Nath Tagore and Narain Swami (known as the Arya
Samaj) carry some cherished memoirs of these great souls.
Besides Mahadevi Verma's house, the Aurobindo Ashram is
another place worth visiting at Ramgarh. The All India
Research Center for Animal Treatment is also situated here.
Ramgarh thus offers excellent paraphernalia of sights and
sounds within its bounds. The breathtaking view of the
Himalayas , along with the flora and fauna are bound to lure
your senses and make your holidays in Uttarakhand a precious
experience! |
