Gangotri Nandanvan Tapovan Trek

 The
Holy River Ganges is the most sacred river in the Hindu religion
and its source at Gomukh on the Gangotri glacier is one of the
holiest places for Hindu pilgrims who come here to witness the
birth of Mother Ganga. The trek takes you to Gomukh (cows
mouth), the mythological source of the River Ganges, which is at
the snout of the Gangotri glacier.
Day 01- Delhi Haridwar 210 Kms( Drive 5-6
Hrs) Arrive Haridwar. Local sightseeing and evening Arti at
Har Ki Pauri. Overnight at The Haveli Hari Ganga- A Heritage
Hotel.
Day 02 Haridwar Harsil. (Drive 290 Kms 8
9 hrs) After breakfast leave for Harsil a drive of 290 Kms.
En route stop at Uttarkashi for Lunch. Restart and on the way
stop at Gangnani for hot water spring dip. Restart to reach
Harsil, One of the most beautiful valleys in the world and reach
The Char Dham Camp set amidst an apple Orchard in Dharali
village 2 kms away from Harsil cantonment in the valley on the
highway itself. On arrival check in for dinner and OVERNIGHT at
The Chardham Camp, Harsil.
Day 03-: Harsil- Ganotri (3048 Mtrs) Bhojwasa
(3792Mtrs) Drive 22 km Trek -14 kms(5-6 hrs)After
early breakfast drive to Gangotri and after offering prayers
start the days trek to Bhojwasa following the river
Bhagirathi on its right bank. Overnight in tents.
Day 04- Bhojwassa Gomukh- Tapovan (4463 mtrs) Trek
-10 kms(4-5 hrs)
 Early
in the Morning enjoy the panoramic view of Bhagirathi group of
peaks. After breakfast trek to Gomukh (3890mt), the source of
the Ganges. Gomukh is where the water of Ganga trickles down
from the glaciers. The sages called it 'Gomukh', because in the
distant past, it probably appeared like a cow's mouth. Explore
the area and trek to Tapovan, one of the finest high altitude
alpine meadows in the area. The trek from Gomukh to Tapovan is
ascent steep, and as we climb, the view of the surrounding peaks
becomes clearer. They appear to be just a stone's throw away.
Tapovan known for its beautiful meadows that encircle the base
camp of the Shivling peak. Tapovan is a very pleasant spot with
a large meadow with bubbling streams, wildflowers and campsites.
Herds of Bharal (blue mountain goats) are a common sight from
here on mountain ridges. On the far side of the glacier the
Bhagirathi I, II, III (6454mt), provide an equally impressive
backdrop. It is also the little wonder where Sadhus and saints
choose this spot for extended meditation during the long summer
month. Overnight stay in camp.
Day 05- TapovanAfter an early breakfast we start on
our hike to Tapovan. Today we will move at a leisurely pace.
Explore the meadows at Tapovan, attempt a short climb or just
chill out, soaking in the beauty of this truly amazing
landscape. Overnight in tents.
Day 06-Tapovan Nandanvan (4337 mtrs) Trek-6 kms(3-4
hrs)
 This
Day is largely an exercise is boulder hopping. Crossing the
moraine covered Gangotri glacier to Nandawan located at the
confluence of the Chaturangi and the Gangotri glaciers.
Literally meaning the four coloured glacier. The Chaturangi is
truly multi-hued. The massive meadows of Nandavan are situated
at the base of the Bhagirathi. The area provides excellent
sightings of Bharal (blue sheep).Enjoy the magnificient view the
Shivling, Bhagirathi, Sudarshan, Thelu and Kedardome peaks.
Overnight stay in tents.
Day 07-Nandanvan - Bhojbasa - 4 Hrs Trek back to
Bhijbasa. Overnight in Tents
Day 08: Bhojbasa - Gangotri - Harsil - 5-6 Hrs Trek
back and drive to, Harsil. Overnight at The Chardham Camp,
Harsil
Day 09 - Harsil - Haridwar (Drive 290 Kms 8 - 9 Hrs)After
breakfast leave for Haridwar and stop at Chinyalisaur for Tea/
Coffee & Lunch (packed). Proceed on to reach Haridwar by
evening. Tour ends on arrival.
Day 10- Haridwar- Delhi Post Breakfast leave for
onward journey
