Dodital Yamunotri Trek

Situated north of Uttarkashi at an elevation of 3024 m is Dodital Lake. Set in the midst of dense woods of oak, pine, deodar and rhododendrons. The lake is full of fish including some rare species like the Himalayan Golden Trout and the forest is full of wildlife, making the entire place totally astounding. The serene, tranquil surroundings, gurgling streams, crystal clear water, and dense alpine forests provide an idyllic set up for rest and recreational activities like bird-watching, angling, boating etc.

The source of the river Yamuna and one of the 4 'Dhams', Yamunotri at an altitude of 3,291 m is dominated by Banderpunch (6,361 m). It is the western most shrine in the Garhwal region, and one has to trek some 13 kms from Hanuman chatti to reach the temple.

Day 01- Delhi – Haridwar – 210 Kms( Drive 5-6 Hrs)

Arrive Haridwar. Local sightseeing and evening Arti at Har Ki Pauri. Overnight at The Haveli Hari Ganga- A Heritage Hotel.

Day 02 – Haridwar – Maneri. (Drive 240 Kms 7 hrs)

After breakfast leave for Maneri a drive of 240 Kms. Arrive The Chardham Camp, Maneri at Lunch. The Char Dham Camp set along Bhgairathi River is beautiful .Overnight at The Camp 5 Elements, Maneri.

Day 03- Maneri - Agoda

Drive to Kalyani( Sangam Chatti) from Maneri (30 kms) The drive takes you through the picturesque Garhwal mountains along the Ganges. Kalyani to Agoda it is a gradual climb amidst forests and villages. It is a 6 Kms trek. Overnight in tent by the side of river Asi Ganga. Overnight by the side of river Asi Ganga in Tents.

Day 04- Agoda-Dodital

A gradual uphill trek through beautiful landscape of thick forests and steep cliffs brings you to the mysterious Dodital Lake (3307 m) - surrounded by dense forests, it is an ideal place for the nature lover. Overnight in Tents.

Day 05- Dodital

Day at leisure. The crystal clear lake and the surrounding dense forests create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Explore the surrounding areas. Campfire dinner at night. Overnight in Tents.

Day 06- Dodital-Darwa Top

Begin the trek ascending the Darwa Dhar Ridge (4115 m ) - the watershed of the Ganga and Yamuna River valleys. Overnight in Tent at Darwa Top or Seema.

Day 07- Darba Top - Hanumanchatti : 15 Kms / 5-6 Hrs

Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Hanumanchatti (2400 M) by covering appox 15 kms in 05 to 06 hrs. Arrive and check-into Tourist Bungalow for overnight stay.

Day 08- Hanumanchatti - Yamunotri -Barkot -Trek 24 Kms( both ways) drive 32 Kms

Morning after breakfast trek to reach Yamunotri (3000 mt.), the source of the holy river - Yamuna and one of the holiest places of Hindu. Arrive at Yamunotri and pray at temple . Trek back to Hanuman Chatti and drive to Barkot. OVERNIGHT at The Chardham Camp, Barkot.

Day 09 - Barkot - Haridwar

After Breakfast, leave for Haridwar. En route Tea/ Coffee & Lunch (packed) at Mussorie. Arrive Haridwar & proceed for your onward journey.

Day 10- Haridwar- Delhi

Post Breakfast leave for onward journey
