Fishing Safari
Fishing safari in Corbett is nothing short of great fun.
Using the camp as a base, one can opt for multi-day fishing
trips on various stretches of the Ramganga River. These trips
are escorted by our Camp fishing guides - some of the finest
in the area, and involve overnight camping by the River on its
upper stretch.
The Ramganga River is the main lifeline of the Corbett Tiger
Reserve and supports a wide array of aquatic life forms
within. Among them, the Mahseer is the considered to be the
best sport fish in the world. Fishing for Mahseer is great fun
as this fish grabs bait quickly especially if the bait is live
fish, fly, plug or spoon. Etymology of Mahseer suggests the
word could mean a fish with “lion’s
gameness” and “fish par excellence”.
The commonly sighted Mahseer on the waters at the Corbett
National Park are the Goonch, Silver Mahseer and the Black
Mahseer. The largest Mahseer (Barbustor) catch in the last few
years has weighed 65lbs. Common Otters (Lutralutra monticola),
Mugger (crocodylus palustris), the fish eating Gharial
(Gavialis gangeticus) and fishing Eagles are just a few who
benefit from this perennial source. Other species in this
river include the Goonch, Malee (Wallago attu), Rohu and Trout
in certain sections.
Masheer Angling
Mahseer is a freshwater fish that is found a
plenty in the waters of the Hill Rivers of Uttarakhand, India.
This scaly fish can grow quite big and shows more sport for
its size than a salmon and is thus considered to be the best
sport fish in the world.

Angling on the Kosi river
The Kosi river flows by the hotel property just adjacent to
our restaurant. The river abounds with myriad fishes during
season and providing good angling opportunities for guests.
One can expect to angle the mighty mahaseer besides other game
fishes like the rohu, eel and pathar chatta (small variety of
cat fish).
