Weather Information The Corbett National Park chiefly
enjoys a temperate weather in comparison to other protected
areas of India. The elevation of the Park ranges between 400 -
1210 meters. Temperature during winters vary between 5°C
(41 °F) to 30 °C (86 °F), along with some foggy
mornings as well. Summer temperatures generally do not cross 40
°C (104 °F) while rainfall ranges from light during
the dry season to heavy during the monsoons.
The favorable location and climate of the park has been
instrumental for its rare and splendid wildlife biodiversity.
Migratory birds, thousands in number, flock to this place
looking for a cooler retreat. Hence, the best time to visit the
Corbett Park would ideally be from October to May, as numerous
avian species from high altitude areas, plains, eastern and
western regions take shelter in this region.

March - April: Max. 35°C-40°C Min 9°C-13°C
May - June: Max. 44°C-46°C Min 19°C-22°C
Seasons:
Winter: Clear skies with comforting sunshine,
good for wildlife viewing between November and December. January
may see frost on the meadows.
Spring: February to April. Best time to be in
the park. Clear weather with excellent visibility. Moderate day
temperatures.
Summer: May to mid-June. Hot in the
afternoons. Mornings and evenings are pleasant. Long daylight
hours facilitating longer wildlife viewing time.
Rains: Mid-June to mid-September. This is when
Corbett is at its most beautiful. Buffer zone and river rafting
open.
Autumn: Mid-September to mid-November. Weather
becomes good enough for movement in the buffer zone. Warm
afternoons and frequently varying day temperatures with
occasional rain. |
