Chopta Tungnath Trek

short easy trek running parallel to the high Himalayas with
beautiful camping by the lake at Devariyatal and some great
forests. In the early spring the rhododendron forest glows red
as the flowers bloom. The views from the Chandrashilla top will
stay in ones memory for really long.
Day 01- Delhi Haridwar 210 Kms( Drive 5-6
Hrs)Arrive Haridwar. Local sightseeing and evening Arti at
Har Ki Pauri. Overnight at The Haveli Hari Ganga- A Heritage
Hotel.
Day 02- Drive Hardwar - Ukhimath (1400m) 6-7 hrs
 Drive
5 hrs along the Alaknanda and the Mandakini rivers to reach
Ukhimath in the evening. Lunch enroute. Visit the temple at
Ukhimath in the evening.
Day 03- Trek Ukhimath - Devariyatal (2440m) 4-5 hrsAfter
an early morning breakfast set out for the trek to Devariyatal.
The trail goes past the village fields and into the forest. Its
gradual uphill all the way up to the beautiful lake of
Devariyatal.
Day 04- Trek Devariyatal - Chopta (3000m) 6-7 hrsThe
trail goes through the dense forest and stays on the ridge all
the way to Tali. From here we descend for a while to cross a
stream and then climb up gradually to reach Chopta, located in
an idyllic setting having beautiful meadows and is surrounded by
dense forests.
Day 05- Trek Chopta - Tungnath (3680m) - Chandrashilla Top
(4130m) - Chopta.
 Start
early in the morning and climb up to the temple of Tungnath and
beyond. Tungnath, one of the Shiva temples is the highest temple
in Garhwal and has definitely a certain mystical/religious
aspect which is quite based on the spectacular surrounding and
views from there which go far beyond the simple "view of
mountains".
Day 06- Drive Chopta Hardwar 6-7 hrs After
breakfast leave for Haridwar .Reach Haridwar & overnight at
The Haveli Hari Ganga.
Day 07- Haridwar- Delhi Post Breakfast leave for
onward journey
